U.S. Open

The U.S. Open is the fourth and last major in the calendar year and by this time, the players are usually spent from all the playing they have done over the course of the last eight months. What this means is the strong win the U.S. Open. When the AO comes around every player is usually fresh but during September many players drop out or get upset.

Arthur Ashe became the first African American to win Wimbledon in 1975. Arthur Ashe has done extraordinary things on and off the court and because of this his name is now on the centre court stadium at the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows.

Ivan Lendl is the only person in the Open Era to make it to seven straight U.S. Open finals and won three straight also during that run.

Rafael Nadal beat Daniil Medvedev in the 2019 final to win his 4th U.S. Open title at Flushing Meadows. This was his 19th major victory which means he is only one major win away from tying Roger Federer at 20 for most ever.

Roger Federer won his 5th straight U.S. Open title in 2008 becoming the only man in history to have won five straight Wimbledon and five straight U.S. Open titles at different times.
